Brittany and Kendra grew up playing music in a family band on a farm in Judith Gap, Montana. Dad played guitar, mom played piano, and every family gathering or community event was an opportunity to round up the kids and make music happen. Now the sisters make their living as actor-musicians in New York City, sharing their Montana sound from theatre houses to bluegrass venues alike.
It was through Musical Theater and gigging in New York City that Britt's sister, Kendra Jo, met and collected this group of brassy, sassy, and wildly talented women. They played one gig together for the purpose of joining a club and instantly realized that something special had been formed. Three years later, The Snowy Mountain Sisters are going strong with a growing infamy among bluegrass and country circles in the city!
These dominantly female bands embody talent, strength, and generous collaboration (yes, they even invite men to play the shows as “bearded sisters”). They love to cover the work of their heroes Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Brandi Carlile, and any female artist worth knowing about! Brittany produced an album and music video featuring the Snowies in 2017 and Kendra Jo is about to release her debut album this spring! Come out to dance, clap, sing, and smile: it’s strings on fire and melody packed with heart!
