"I let my music take me where my heart wants to go." -Cat Stevens
Brittany is a Big-Sky heart on stage.
While she spent much of her childhood pitching hay to cows after a day of school and a rigorous basketball practice, the stage was never far from her mind. Brittany began performing at the age of four with her family, who played and sang as an amateur Bluegrass band for local talent shows and weddings. At the age of eleven, she began acting and writing her own music, and at the age of 13, her father made her choose (and stick with) a musical instrument. One day later in high school, he gifted her his beautiful '96 Martin D28. Today, she and her sister make their living off of music and performance in NYC.
Brittany lives in a shoebox studio in Washington Heights with her husband, Matthew Whitfield. Together, they sustain 6 jobs in order to support their work as storytellers on film and stage.
